  • What is Goth.Code?
This is a code that you can attach to your .Signature in email or USENET postings to give people an idea of who you are. It's specially tailored to "alternative types." Apart from Version 1.0, it uses a few prosaic Geek Code portions, though adds to them, and takes a good deal more inspiration from the Twink Code and library codes such as the Dewey Decimal Cataloguing Scheme. The Goth Code was initially born, screaming, on the 20th of October 1995.

As a document in itself, it's more designed to be a fun way to investigate the significant differences in people who consider themselves 'gothic,' while also allowing people to present to the public a small snapshot of who they are in their .Signatures.

  • What's the difference between a code version x.x and x.xA?
x.xA has been 'added to' slightly in order to eliminate small bugs. Other than this, there are no significant differences between the versions and so are considered, essentially, the same. The x.xA file has the date on when the last bug-fix was performed.

  • Version 1.0 (Beta) (released: 20Oct95): The first ever posting of The Goth Code to alt.gothic.
